As happy as she would let herself be. This time, she would allow herself to pretend, to ponder the what if, to give a chance to things she never thought she would feel.
“I would bring it you and put it in a gilded cage of a locket, kept close to your breast, because nothing on this plane would be able to shine as bright as you, Doll.” His voice ruffled my hair and caused my lips automatically to quirk into a smile.
